Scoop Dish by Lars Tornøe
“The rain had just cleared as she came to the beach. The sand was still wet and heavy, almost like clay. She dragged her heel through the soft ground, leaving behind long grooves — as if someone had taken a scoop.”
Multi-purpose bowls that can be used to store or display small objects or simply displayed as a decoration unto themselves. Circular tools are used to carve out asymetrical depressions from the rectangular wood planks in a process that evokes the act of scooping ice cream from a fresh pint. The blocks are then sanded and oiled by hand.
