In order to create the basic "jump ring" link that Rebeca works with, first a spool of wire must be coiled around a mandrel, then cut, and finally cleaned and polished or sent to an aluminum anodizer to be dyed. Then, using one set of pliers in each hand, Rebeca links the jump rings one by one. The process is like weaving from metal, creating patterns and shapes from simple hoops and loops.
