Maia’s work is designed using a three-dimensional rendering computer program in her Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania studio. The individual pieces are laser-cut out of carbon steel which she then hand-finishes. The black pieces are heat-treated and sealed with olive oil, and the gold pieces are plated with 24-karat gold. All ear posts and wire are sterling silver.

This piece is made up of intertwined 1-1/4” steel circles on a silicone cord.
